Temple Newsam House
Temple Newsam is a Tudor-Jacobean house with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown, which is now owned by Leeds City Council and open to the public. The house is a Grade I listed building.
The house is supposedly haunted by a Blue Lady, whom some have suggested is Mary Ingram. Her portrait hangs in the Green Damask Room. Her imminent appearance is announced by an icey blast of air. Another apparition reported is that of a small boy.
Other occurances are doors slamming, the sounds of footsteps and the feeling of someone brushing against you as you negotiate the stairs.
